The tall toy box
In New England there used to be a bench seat inside the front door of farmhouses for use when you came inside. It was against the wall and often had a high back, and arms. At the top of the back were hooks for scarves and coats, and a shelf for hats and caps. Here, one sat while removing shoes or boots. In some houses spare slippers were available by simply lifting the bench lid.
This toy box is based on that design.
The heart can be either walnut, as shown, or cherry and the box is #1 select pine (as shown) and can be trimmed in walnut, or cherry.
It is 36" tall by 18" deep by 30" wide with 34" tall arms.
